Our methodology

  • 1

    Standardised Data

Samples will be collected in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, and complemented with data collected by our partners in different projects. The data collected will be unified in unique standardised datasets.

    Innovative Data Analysis

The project will develop a community of practice from the field to the wet laboratory, develop standardised pathogen (exposure) detection and characterisation tools, as well as templates.

    Participatory Workshops

To transfer the knowledge gained and tools developed to all stakeholders, BCOMING will adapt an existing natural resource management participatory learning process (CHaRL) that will guide the design of innovation solutions.

Integrative AGENT BASED MODELS

Agent-based models (ABMs) are used to support CHaRL: a participatory learning process which serves as a conceptual framework oriented to the governance, management and planning for One Health outcomes.
  • Biodiversity Conservation Strategies

ABMs facilitate the design of innovative biodiversity conservation and restoration strategies, as well as zoonotic disease surveillance systems to sustainably reduce the risk of zoonotic disease emergence in each study area, which leads to INCREASED BIODIVERSITY.
  • Cost-effective zoonotic disease surveillance systems

Adaptable to a wide range of stakeholders across different ecosystems and scenarios, to sustainably REDUCE THE RISK OF ZOONOTIC DISEASE EMERGENCE.
